Winding tension and profile
Winding is one of the most important steps in the production of a spiral-wound gasket. In this process, the fillings of the spiral-wound gaskets are produced and the resulting spiral is then connected to an inner and outer ring to complete the gasket. The fillings are usually made of graphite or PTFE. In order to speed up the production of this metal/ soft material gasket, automatic winding machines are programmed for high and consistent quality.
The profile of the metal spiral and the soft material layer provide the gaskets with optimum properties for the desired application. Spiral-wound gaskets are also manufactured with inner rings and/or outer rings. Our production enables the manufacture of spiral-wound gaskets with outside diameters from 15 mm to 4,000 mm.
