Lens Gaskets
Optimum surface pressure is a prerequisite
The sealing surface of lens gaskets adjusts according to surface pressure. Lens gaskets are insensitive to overpressure and are often reused (please note: TRBS 2141-3, paragraph 4.2.2). It may happen that lens gaskets are compressed due to pressing action - the material yields. This may cause the prestressing force in the screws to decrease. Galvanic coatings such as copper plating or silver plating can improve the sealing properties and reduce the minimum surface pressure.
